River Song Timeline: Series 4 - 7a by willbrooks River Song Timeline: Series 4 - 7a by willbrooks
**CLICK DOWNLOAD FOR VERSION THAT'S READABLE**

Sometime after series five of Doctor Who aired, there were a couple of these 'Timeline of River Song' pieces floating about the net. Since then, though, they've become wildly out-dated, and are in need of a good clean-up. I've based the style on one of the earlier s5 timelines I found on Google - couldn't find an original credit, but thank you if it was you! - and re-made it from scratch.

---

EDIT: May 20th 2013; Updated to take the timeline up to 'The Name of the Doctor', and several changes made to adjust the way the timeline flows. Think it's fully up-to-speed now.

This is fantastic and you obviously spent hours figuring out the timey-whimey. I love it and it has helped me to put River's arc to rest in my head (even though I would love to see a return of River in the show!). A job well done my friend Clap Clap

I have spotted a glitch though, nothing major but It doesn't flow with River's appearances 100%. I found this little snippet on Wikipedia while I was trying to work out why 11 would take River to Darillium knowing it would be the second to last time she would see him (we all know how selfish the Doctor can be, why would he sacrifice his relationship with River!?).

  • The younger two Rivers dislike the green dress in "First Night"/"Last Night", which her eldest self wears in "Last Night". She also wore it at the start of "Day of THE Moon" when she dove backwards out of the skyscraper, into the TARDIS' pool, indicating that, from the perspective of her imprisoned adult self, "The Impossible Astronaut" & "Day of the Moon" occurred between her second and eldest selves in "Last Night".

Awesome love it!! Seriously has helped me a lot but...one teeny tiny thing, she doesn't die from the gunshot.  Amy missed...somehow little Melody manages to follow leads on her parents all the way to New York City (hmm wonder where those leads are coming from ;) ) and manages to die of cold and hunger.  (also I was going to mention "hey but she comes back to the Wedding of River Song at the end that's not on here!" but I saw it in the footnotes ^-^)

Brilliant! Only suggestion I would make is that the Wedding of River Song and Impossible Astronaut should somehow be overlapping as they both incorporate the same event, Lake Silencio, with River even being there twice.

This is absolutely fantastic! Wonderful for re-watching Doctor Who if you don't want to lose track of how River's timeline fits into the Doctor's. Thanks for all the work you put into this, I love it! :-)

Hmm . . . I'm not sure I like The Snowmen where it is on here. If Snowmen comes at the end of the what is described as dark times where The Doctor has been all moody after enduring "losses" and refuses to help anyone anymore, it doesn't make sense to put Last Night after that time period. By the time he and Clara meet up with the computer River at Trenzalore, she has been dead for a "very, very long time." It makes more sense to include losing River in with losing the Ponds not giving him the option to just pop in and see her if he needs cheering up. I have to assume Last Night happens before The Snowmen and after "The Angels Take Manhattan."

Yeah I always assumed that....it's why he was SO down in the dumps....in such a dark place...because he lost them all so close together.
